The Auxiliary

Auxiliary Officers

New Auxiliary Officers are elected at Culpeper Regional Hospital.

The Auxiliary at Culpeper Regional Hospital is a volunteer organization made up of more than 225 men and women from all around our service region - Culpeper, Madison, Orange (including Lake of the Woods), Rappahannock and southern Fauquier counties. Founded before the hospital opened in 1960, members of this organization were an integral part of the conception and planning for a new hospital.

Today, the CRH Auxiliary members serve in a multitude of ways–helping patients, visitors, and hospital staff. During 2007, the Auxilians donated over 35,000 hours of service. The volunteers operate a Coffee Shop and a Gift Shop within the hospital, in addition to a Thrift Shop located in the Meadowbrook Shopping Center in Culpeper. Proceeds from these three entities are donated to the hospital and have helped fund many important needs over the decades such as:

  • New hospital beds (part of a $1 million gift to the Inpatient Wing renovation).
  • $1.2 million gift to Here’s to Your Health Capital Campaign (CRH Foundation).

More recently, donations from CRH Auxiliary members made the new Aquatics Center in the new Powell Wellness Center a reality!

The service organization also sponsors a volunteer arm for young people, ages 13–18. These young volunteers work at the hospital primarily during the summer time. During 2007, the CRH Auxiliary sponsored $10,000 in scholarships to local graduating high school students continuing their education in the healthcare field.

Whatever Your Skills or Interests . . . The Auxiliary Wants You!

Junior Auxiliary

Junior Auxiliary Class of 2007.

Open to everyone over the age of 18, the Auxiliary welcomes new members. New volunteers participate in an orientation process and receive training in their chosen service area, as needed. Please look over the service options list for ideas or bring new ideas for areas of service!

If you are under 18 and are looking for a way to explore hospital careers or just a way to volunteer, you may be interested in joining the Junior Auxiliary.
