The Foundation

Culpeper Regional Hospital: “A Product of Our Hands and Hearts” - Admiral Lewis Strauss.

In 1955, the Culpeper Jaycettes called a public meeting to consider building a hospital in Culpeper County, then the ‘center’ of the region, which included Culpeper, Madison, Orange, Rappahannock, and Southern Fauquier counties. Through community leadership and support (or “hands and hearts” as described by Admiral Strauss, one of the founders), Culpeper Regional Hospital opened its doors on March 24, 1960.

Culpeper Regional Hospital Foundation continues the legacy begun in 1955. Our mission is to provide a broad base of community interest and financial support to ensure the continued viability and quality patient care at Culpeper Regional Hospital. Gifts to Culpeper Regional Hospital Foundation support ongoing programs, including nursing education and advancement, investing in specialized technology and expanding services into new areas of need. Powell Wellness Center, the Dr. Christopher Zielinski Healing Garden, the recently renovated Chapel, and programs to serve underprivileged patients are some of the many important areas that have benefitted from the generosity of our donors.

Our Hands

Neopuff Infant ResuscitatorsEnsuring the safe delivery of babies is the goal of our Family Birth Center. Through the generosity of our donors, Neopuff Infant Resuscitators are available in all of the labor and delivery rooms. The Neopuffs are available to medical staff in the event of an emergency when the newborn baby must be resuscitated. Neopuffs maximizes the nurses’ ability to obtain and maintain the baby’s airway.

Our Hearts

Anna RuthAs a member of the Virginia Power board of directors, Anna Ruth Inskeep was involved in the Director’s Charitable Contribution Program. Through the Program, Mrs. Inskeep chose Culpeper Regional Hospital to receive $125,000. Jane Barrell, Mrs. Inskeep's daughter, shared that "my mother felt very strongly about our local hospital. I know she would have been thrilled to see all the good work that has come from it".
